Annual Pet Life Celebration
Share in an evening of reflection and celebration to honor pets that have touched our lives. Held on the second Sunday of September, The Pet Life Celebration, coincides with National Pet Memorial Day. Proceeds raised from the event benefit local pet rescue groups.
Bonds formed with our pets are personal, so when your pet passes, the need to recognize their life is very important. The Celebration provides an opportunity to honor pets that have brightened our lives and filled our hearts with unconditional love. The event honors all pets, furry, feathered and scaly in a very special way.
Pet owners are encouraged to bring well-behaved leashed pets to share in the celebration. A local pastor delivers Individual blessings and gives a commemorative Saint Francis Charm for each pet that attends.
The Lighting of Luminaries honors pets that have passed, pets that still bring joy to our lives, and pets still in search of a forever home. Plenty of art supplies are available for personalizing your pet’s luminary at the event. And, for children experiencing the loss of a beloved pet for the first time, decorating a luminary is very rewarding.
The Program Schedule typically includes a Luminary sign In, Individual Blessing of Pets, Fellowship and Refreshments followed by the Celebration Service, Reflection Walk through the Luminaries and a biodegradable balloon release.
Pet supply donation boxes are also available. And a list of immediate needs are listed on the event page of our website every year.
To attend the event, details about the date and time can be found on the calendar page.
In addition to the Celebration, Pet Pilgrimage offers pet loss grief support meetings for families in need of ongoing support.
