Blackie was a rescue from Stanly county. We fostered him and quickly realized he would not be leaving our home. He was a black lab and boxer mix. He was shy and reserved but loved and trusted us immediately. He loved other dogs and would get so excited to play with his brothers and sisters in the backyard. He would play tag with me and jump like a kangaroo! He liked riding in the car, ice cream, the beach, and going on walks, but his favorite place was to lay on my lap! He was a 60-pound lap dog! In the last few years of his life, he began to come out of his shell and be more social. He enjoyed treats and attention from all who came to our house. He was 16 1/2 years old! He lived a long happy life and he taught us patience. We miss his sweet little face and his cute little run. Roxy misses him a lot too. He was a sweet soul and such a good boy. We miss him every day. xo
